……. And Another New Member

Now here’s a rarity and a first for FISCAR, so welcome Dan Smith with this splendid Peerless GT. This is an early chassis , no 27 of approximately 300 built. It is an all original specced  1958 car fitted with the slightly larger TR 2138cc engine which was introduced in 1959. Another fabulous new shape to our grids and very welcome.  -JT - Jan 2020

TR3A Joins Us

Warm welcome to Zaheer Shah who is in the process of acquiring his 6 signatures, is now in the process of returning his Triumph TR3A to a more original specification in order to comply with FISCAR regs. He is currently having 4 new steel wings fitted, has purchased a set of steel wheels and Dunlop L tyres and is replacing the Webers with SUs. That’s displaying great commitment and whilst there are other changes that he needs to resolve as soon as possible, I’ve agreed that he will be able to race with us, if necessary in the reintroduced Chairman’s invitation class. He is currently trying to source a standard diff, and will eventually need to replace the steering rack, but I reckon this is great effort, so far, worthy of our support. -JT - Jan 2020

Welcome to new member, Ryan Hodges, who has taken on the rebuild of this exciting project and hopes to campaign it with FISCAR in the coming season. It is a 1954 JCX built in Belgium, imported into the UK in 1957, and road registered. It has a fabricated backbone chassis, VW front suspension, Lancia Aprilia diff, drum brakes all round, and an Alfa Romeo engine, which it ran in both 1100 and 1500 form, Borrani wheels 4.5 front and 5.5 rear, and a pretty hand beaten aluminium body. The engine has an interesting history. It was a 1300cc in 1954, sleeved down to 1100cc for class, and then opened up for 1500cc class. Ryan has both sets of pistons and it is no surprise that he has opted for the 1500 capacity (wouldn’t you?) which makes it a Class 1 FISCAR FLIER.  We look forward to seeing Ryan bring this lovely car to our grids. - JT - Dec. 2019
